(inquit Bochart. l. 1. Chanaan, c. 22.) vel Ταῖναρ, est ipsissima vox Phoenicia tinar, quae pro rupe passim occurrit in Chaldaea paraphrasi. Syri vero traiectis literis scribunt tiran, et tirno. Itaque Taenar est rupes. eT vero in Taenaro monte lapidicinas describit Strabo, l. 8. Εἰσι δὲ, inquit, λατομίαι λίθου πολυπελοῦς, τοῦ μέν Ταιναρίου εν Ταινάρῳ παλαιαί.
